Mini-pupillages at Atkin Chambers

The next application window for mini-pupillages will be announced next year.

Although a mini-pupillage is not a pre-requisite to applying for pupillage, we recognise that they are helpful when making decisions about pupillage applications by providing some knowledge of the areas of law in which the barristers at Atkin Chambers specialise as well as a taste of life at the Bar.

What mini-pupillages are offered at Atkin Chambers

Chambers offers up to 10 two-day mini-pupillage opportunities per year.

Mini-pupillages are not assessed and the experience is viewed as a decision-making tool to help students make the right choice when deciding where to submit a full pupillage application.

During their time in Chambers, mini-pupils are given the dedicated support of a junior barrister whose task it is to provide a varied insight into the life and work of a barrister at Atkin Chambers.

We ask please that applicants not apply earlier than 2nd year law or 3rd year non-law. We welcome applications from those studying the BPTC or GDL.

Expenses policy

For successful applicants to this scheme Chambers will reimburse all reasonable travel expenses and arrange overnight accommodation nearby if required.

Please raise any requests for fares and accommodation with the clerk to the Pupillage Committee (pupillage@atkinchambers.com) when organising mini-pupillage dates.
