John Blackburn KC, 1945 – 2024

It is with a heavy heart that we record the death of John Blackburn KC on 13th April 2024.

John was a member of Atkin Chambers and a construction specialist who was involved in numerous important disputes over his lengthy career, which spanned more than 50 years. He joined Atkin Chambers in 1970 and took Silk at a precocious age in 1984. He was one of the foremost practitioners in his field. John was elected Head of Atkin Chambers in 1996. Ten years later, in 2006, John became a Door Tenant at Atkin, continuing in practice as an arbitrator. He was exceptional and was much in demand as an arbitrator as he had been in Silk. Above all John was a good friend and a colleague to us and we will miss him greatly.

The funeral will be held at 2.30pm, 2nd May at St Margaret’s Church, Fernhurst, West Sussex.
