Atkin Chambers is delighted to announce that Rashda Rana is becoming a door tenant with effect from February 2012. She will divide her time between Wentworth Chambers in Sydney and Atkin Chambers in London specialising in commercial arbitration. She began her career as a barrister at Atkin Chambers more than 20 years ago.
She is returning to the bar having spent several years first in private practice at Australian law firm Holding Redlich, then in-house at an Australian multinational, becoming general counsel, Australia, for Lend Lease Project Management and Construction (formerly Bovis Lend Lease). She was a practising barrister for 17 years before then.
Andrew White, Head of Chambers says “We are delighted that Rashda is joining us as a door tenant. Atkin Chambers’ international arbitration practice in the Asia-Pacific has grown dramatically in recent years and the region continues to be a key focus. Barristers from Atkin Chambers regularly spend time on appointments and instructions in the region throughout the year and I hope that Rashda will provide an extension to this service.”
Rashda Rana says “I am excited to be back with Atkin Chambers after all these years. I hope that my presence will enhance the Atkin Chambers’ offering in the Asia Pacific. I can act as the practitioner ‘on the ground’, and will be able to offer local support to clients, taking both instructions as counsel and appointments as arbitrator.”
