Atkin Chambers delighted to sponsor the Anglo Dutch Exchange programme 2018

Atkin Chambers is delighted to sponsor the Anglo-Dutch Exchange Programme 2018 run by the Bar Council. The Anglo Dutch Exchange Programme (ADE) is now past its 50^th year and is one of the longest-standing bilateral legal exchange programmes in the world.

Dutch delegates will visit Atkin Chambers on 2 October for a seminar and drinks reception. The seminar will be provided by Jennifer Jones who will speak on ‘The life of a Barrister’ and Frances Pigott who will speak on ‘Bluewater: Dutch Companies’ Experience in the English High Court’.

The ADE aims to give Dutch lawyers an insight into the British legal system and legal life. The programme includes tours of Criminal and Civil Courts, lunch at the Inns of Court’s fine dining halls, lectures from some of the biggest and most successful law firms and sets of Chambers in the capital, as well as a day trip to Oxford for a flavour of life and practice outside the City. Visiting Dutch lawyers are hosted by local lawyers, giving the opportunity to learn more about each other’s jurisdictions and to develop lasting friendships.
