Atkin Chambers at London International Disputes Week 2026

Atkin Chambers is delighted to once again be involved in a number of events during this year’s London International Disputes Week, taking place between 1st and 5th June.

Chambers will be jointly hosting four events during the week, including:

Wednesday 3rd June, 9am – 10.30am
This House believes that three arbitrators are better than one
Jointly hosted with Mayer Brown, this light-hearted but informative debate will explore the pros and cons of a panel vs a single arbitrator for the determination of international disputes. The debate will focus on arbitration in a construction / commercial context, but the points of principle discussed should be of general appeal to all practitioners engaged with international arbitration.

Jointly hosted with Simmons & Simmons, this panel session will explore challenges presented by PPPs and how we can overcome these for the future infrastructure pipelines both on a national and international stage, including trends for 2026 and beyond.

Time to Get Tough? Sanctions, Speed, and the Modern Arbitrator
Jointly hosted with CMS, this panel discussion will consider whether arbitrators should use more coercive powers, similar to court judges, to help speed up the arbitration process and to be able to sanction badly behaved representatives or parties. The panel will provide perspectives from both counsel and arbitrators.

Jointly hosted with Pinsent Masons, this panel discussion will focus on issues that commonly arise at the end of a construction project and how to resolve them. Such issues include disputes about completion, partial completion and taking over, performance security and bonds.
