Andrew Goddard KC will present an evening talk to the Society of Construction Law Hong Kong on ‘AI in Arbitration: Hype or Hyper-reality?’ on September 24th.
Andrew will consider the potential of AI to impact how disputes are arbitrated and whether it can and should lead to greater collaboration between parties. He will also consider the space it may provide for arbitral tribunals to be more interventionist and whether such is an opportunity which should be grasped or avoided, bearing in mind the observations of Sir Robin Knowles in the P&ID v Federal Republic of Nigeria case from 2024 and in Sir Robin’s 2025 Roebuck Lecture.
