The Hon James Allsop AC to deliver Dethridge Memorial Address at MLAANZ ‘Future of Shipping’ Conference

The Hon James Allsop AC is to deliver the Dethridge Memorial Address at the Maritime Law Association of Australia and New Zealand’s (MLAANZ) 48th National Conference: ‘Future of Shipping’.

The conference will take place between 4th and 6th October in Perth.

MLAANZ is an association comprising more than 500 members from Australia and New Zealand and from several other countries. Its members include lawyers and judges, academics, representatives of major exporters, shipping companies, port operators, ship, cargo and liability insurers and government and defence force representatives.The Association’s objectives include: supporting and advancing reforms in maritime law and its administration, facilitating the unification and harmonization of maritime and commercial law internationally, and of maritime customs, usages and practices, facilitating justice in the maritime sector, and furnishing a forum for the discussion and consideration of issues affecting participants in the maritime sector.

Following the conference, James will be attending Australian Arbitration Week in Perth where he has a number of speaking engagements:

• Monday 9th October – James will be the guest speaker at the ACICA cocktail party following the main International Arbitration Conference
• Tuesday 10th October – James will be speaking at the Australian Maritime Arbitration Commission’s ‘Maritime Arbitration Update’.
