Amongst the first of her call year to take silk, Stephanie has consistently been recognised as a leader in her field in legal directories such as Chambers & Partners UK Bar Guide, Chambers Global, The Legal 500 and Legal Experts. She has a high-powered practice spanning the whole range of issues arising in construction and civil/ mechanical/geotechnical engineering work including infrastructure (including public private procurement /PFI) and energy – oil and gas to renewables.
Since May 2018 Stephanie Barwise QC has been representing a group of core participants (including survivors, bereaved relatives and former residents of Grenfell Tower) in The Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry. She was instructed because of her standing as a construction law expert and because of the criticality of building regulations and fire engineering as core issues under examination in this Inquiry.
