Shourav Lahiri will be speaking as part of a panel session, hosted by Zhong Lun Law Firm and Secretariat, during China Arbitration Week. The session, entitled ‘International Engineering Project Management and Dispute Resolution’, will take place on Friday 27th September in Beijing and Shourav will be joined by fellow panellists Cao Lijun and Sun Wei of Zhong Lun Law Firm, Wang Qiang, Arbitrator and Amit Garg and Li Weiyan of Secretariat.
In the 11 years since the Belt and Road Initiative was launched, more and more Chinese companies have “gone global” and gradually expanded their international engineering business. Due to the professionalism and complexity of the project itself, the long time span for fulfillment, and the large number of participants, there are many complicated and controversial factors in the performance of engineering contracts. On this basis, international projects are also affected by many aspects such as legal environment, language culture, management methods, human resources, political situation, etc.
This discussion will provide a deep understanding of international project management methods from the perspective of corporate representatives and arbitrators with extensive overseas project experience, and analyse the paths to resolve international engineering disputes.
