Members and door tenants of Atkin Chambers have served as chairs of, and counsel to, a number of public inquiries, and as counsel representing participating parties, both in the UK and elsewhere.
Members and door tenants have been involved in some of the most high-profile public enquiries relating to Chambers’ specialisms. For example they were appointed in relation to: the Grenfell Tower Public Enquiry that reported in 2024; the 2009 Lakanal House Coroner Inquest; and the 2001 Cullen Inquiry into the Ladbroke Grove rail crash, all in the UK. Members also acted in a 2009 Inquiry into public procurement policies and practices in the construction sector in Trinidad and Tobago.
In addition, members and door tenants have more wide ranging expertise in the field, for example in connection with the 2009 Al-Sweady Inquiry in the UK and with the 2019 Zac Cox Inquiry in Qatar.
