Camille Slow will participate in a panel discussion on major projects on Wednesday 7 July as part of the inaugural UK-Middle East Legal Services Week 6-8 July 2021.

This virtual conference is run by the UK Government’s GREAT campaign and is a joint initiative between the Ministry of Justice and Department for International Trade. The conference will bring together professionals from all areas of the legal sector from dispute resolution and arbitration to infrastructure and financial services to share the latest industry trends and challenges.

The Major Projects panel (11:00am – 12:00pm UK time / 3pm – 4pm Gulf Standard Time) will discuss:

  • The relevance of English law in major project contracts in the Middle East
  • The impact of English law in the region and how to apply the skills of an English trained lawyer in these transactions
  • English law and English legal skills in contentious matters

The panel will be chaired by Alexander Sarac, Partner at Addleshaw Goddard (Dubai) and Camille Slow will be joined by Edward Rose, Partner at Jones Day (Riyadh), and Vivek Kapoor, Barrister at 39 Essex Chambers (London).

Legal Services are GREAT is the UK Ministry of Justice’s international marketing campaign for the UK legal sector. The campaign supports and facilitates relationships between UK legal professionals, international businesses and law firms.

The campaign promotes the strength and breadth of the UK’s legal services offer to a global market, with a campaign presence in more than 30 countries from the UAE to Uzbekistan, and Nigeria to Singapore, through conferences, trade missions and other promotional activity.
