Camille Slow KC to join panel session on ‘FIDIC Inflation in Arbitration’

On Thursday 15th October, Camille Slow KC will join a panel session, hosted by FTI Consulting, to discuss ‘FIDIC Inflation in Arbitration’.

Inflation and cost pressures continue to affect construction projects worldwide -an ongoing issue from the latter part of COVID through to wars in Ukraine and Iran.

These pressures remain a significant issue for employers and contractors. FIDIC contracts provide mechanisms for managing cost increases through:

• Direct contract indexation; and
• Provisions that value certain works and claims by reference to cost, including inflation, where the relevant criteria are met.

Camille will join Joanne Clarke of Howard Kennedy, Asel El Housan of AEH Consultancy and Chris Johnston of FTI to explore:

• How these FIDIC mechanisms  operate in practice;
• Where their application can lead to disputes;
• The role of arbitration and expert evidence in resolving them.
