Atkin Chambers is delighted to announce that William Haslam and Nicholas Zeolla have joined as tenants, following the successful completion of their pupillage.
Their practices will cover all areas of Atkin Chambers’ core specialisms, including construction and infrastructure, energy and professional negligence. Both have experience of all stages of litigation and arbitration and they have worked with a variety of standard form construction contracts including JCT and NEC forms.
William studied Geography at the University of Cambridge where he came first overall in his year and won numerous prizes and scholarships. He spent a year as a Herchel Smith Scholar at Harvard University, where he studied at Harvard Law School before obtaining a distinction in his GDL and Bar Course studies. William was also awarded the Society of Construction Law’s Hudson Essay Prize. Prior to joining chambers, William spent a year working as a judicial assistant to Lord Justice Coulson in the Court of Appeal.
Nicholas graduated at the top of his year in History at University College London and was awarded three major scholarships from Gray’s Inn to complete his law and bar studies at the City Law School. During law school, Nicholas studied Private International Law at the Hague Academy of International Law as a Michael Mustill scholar; and he successfully represented the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition: winning the White & Case Pre-Moot in Frankfurt and receiving an Honourable Mention at the competition in Vienna.
