Atkin Chambers is delighted to support this year’s International Lawyers for Africa (ILFA) programme, supported by COMBAR.
The charity ILFA organises a training programme through which aspiring African lawyers spend three months at a City law firm or in the legal department of a major commercial company. During their placement they are all offered the chance to spend a week at a COMBAR set (similar to a mini-pupillage) and Atkin is pleased to be a participating set.
The initiative aims to support the development of commercial legal practice and the rule of law in Africa, and provides opportunities for building ties with lawyers in various African jurisdictions.
Atkin Chambers supports several similar initiatives that aim to develop links with lawyers in foreign jurisdictions and has previously participated in the Bar Council Korean Exchange Programme and the Bar Council China Training Scheme.
