Applications now open (as at 1 July) for mini-pupillages in autumn 2019

25th Jun 2019

Atkin Chambers offers up to ten, two-day mini-pupillages a year. Applications should be made between 1 and 31 July for mini-pupillages in September/December 2019 (and between 1 and 31 January 2020 for mini-pupillages in March/April/July of that year).

We request that applicants not apply earlier than 2nd year law or 3rd year non-law. We welcome applications from those studying the BPTC or GDL.

During their time in Chambers, mini-pupils are given the dedicated support of a junior barrister whose task it is to provide a varied insight into the life and work of a barrister at Atkin Chambers.

Chambers does not assess its mini-pupils, as it views the experience as a decision-making tool to help them inform the right choice when deciding where to submit a full pupillage application.

How to apply for mini-pupillage at Atkin Chambers

Please send a CV and a covering letter of no more than two pages in length addressed to the “Clerk to the Pupillage Committee” at pupillage@atkinchambers.com.

Applicants should state a preference for the month(s) in which they wish to attend and any dates that should be avoided.

Successful candidates will be notified in August.

Expenses policy

For successful applicants to this scheme we are happy to reimburse all reasonable travel expenses and can arrange overnight accommodation nearby if required.  Please raise any requests for fares and accommodation with the clerk to the Pupillage Committee (pupillage@atkinchambers.com) when organising your mini-pupillage dates.
