Professor Doug Jones AO will participate in Hogan Lovells’ Annual Middle East Construction Forum: Marriages of convenience and being “stuck in the middle with you “ on Wednesday 25 November 2020 (9.30am GST/5.30am UK time) hosted by members of Hogan Lovells’ construction and engineering practice.
By reference to real (but anonymised) scenarios and case studies from around the world and various industry sectors, including a fictional offshore wind project, the interactive webinar will cover the issues that arise as a result of the modern reality of having to team up with others on major projects, be it through joint ventures, consortia, subcontractors, lenders, etc. The speakers will focus on practical and commercial advice as to how you might best manage and navigate your way through these risks so as to maximise your prospects for a successful outcome, with three sessions covering:
1. “DIVORCE” focusing on what happens when marriages fall apart and you find yourself “stuck in the middle” of other parties’ disputes.
2. “MARRIED LIFE” focusing on dealings with partners and how to manage projects effectively such that issues are addressed as and when they arise.
3. Q&A with Professor Doug Jones AO in which Professor Jones will be asked questions from our speakers and attendees on the issues covered during the webinar.
The interactive Q & A session with Professor Doug Jones AO, will be chaired by: Nabeel Ikram, Partner, Hogan Lovells, Dubai. In this session attendees and speakers can ask Doug questions in relation to the topics discussed during the course of the webinar and how the issues that can arise can be effectively resolved by arbitration proceedings.
