At Atkin Chambers, we recognise that mini-pupillages can be a helpful tool when deciding whether to apply for a pupillage here, and we are pleased to offer a small number of opportunities each year. Our 2 day mini pupillages are available during July and September.

During their time with us, mini-pupils are each offered the dedicated support of a junior barrister whose aim it is to provide wide and varied insight into life at Atkin Chambers and the work of an advocate. Our mini-pupils are not assessed and mini-pupillages are provided by us simply as an experience to help students make an informed decision in relation to full pupillage application. We are happy to reimburse all reasonable travel expenses incurred during the mini-pupillage.

Demand is, of course, high and we request that, in general, applicants should be in the second year of their law degree or the final year of their non-law degree so that mini-pupillages can be completed before pupillage choices have to be made.

Applications should be made strictly during March 2013 for a mini-pupillage the same year and should be made by sending a CV and covering letter to “The Clerk to the Pupillage Committee” at pupillage@atkinchambers.com. Applicants should state whether they would like their mini-pupillage to take place in July or September 2013.

Chambers will offer mini-pupillages to students who are genuinely interested in subsequently applying for a full pupillage and are suitable candidates for them. Successful candidates will be notified during April 2013.
