Matthew Ashman works as part of the clerking team to provide a complete and efficient service to all the members of Atkin Chambers and their clients. In addition to this, his other daily duties include diary management, fee negotiation, work allocation and liaising with solicitors and court staff.
Alongside Andy Burrows, Matthew assists the Pupillage and Recruitment Committee with its administration.
He is a member of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks. He has completed the BTEC Advanced Award in Chambers’ Administration, for which he was awarded ‘Star Pupil’, and the Bar Council Public Access training course.
Matthew joined Chambers in 2013, after completing a degree in International Relations from the University of Portsmouth.
