Chantal-Aimée Doerries has been appointed as Queen's Counsel. The official ceremony will be held on the 28th March 2008. Chantal's elevation is richly deserved and it sees her as the youngest female barrister to take the honour this year.
Simon Lofthouse QC has been appointed Joint Vice-Chairman of the Bar Standards Board, Complaint's Committee.
Chambers are delighted by the news that Robert Akenhead QC has been appointed a Judge of the High Court. Mr. Justice Akenhead will take up his role in the Queens Bench Division and will be sitting in the Technology and Construction Court with effect from 3rd October 2007.
Chambers is pleased to announce that Colin Reese QC is the new editor of Hudson. The publishers (Sweet & Maxwell) hope to have the next edition on the shelves before the end of 2008. Colin is taking a period of sabbatical leave to enable him to undertake this somewhat daunting task.
We are pleased to welcome David Sears QC (call 1984, Silk 2003), formerly of 4 Pump Court, who joined chambers on 3rd September 2007.

advise the recipient that the persons responsible for the emails are
members of Atkin Chambers and claim the Barristers are distributing cash
"entitlements".
The members of Atkin Chambers are not associated in any way with the
persons distributing these fraudulent emails or with the activities
described. The purpose of these emails are apparently to induce the
recipients to disclose personal information and bank details.
Atkin Chambers has been taking action in an effort to stop such
fraudulent emails from being distributed.
