Successfully mediated over 60 disputes as Lead Mediator including -

 

Multi-party commercial, technical and professional negligence disputes involving international supply and sale of goods contracts, an international services franchising agreement, supply & installation of street lighting and signage on a UK motorway, engineer's negligence in the design of sewerage and drainage systems, multi-party disputes between developers, purchasers and the professional design teams, and high value domestic refurbishment contracts as well as a professional negligence claims against solicitors and accountants.

 

Pro bono and time limited mediations under National Mediation Helpline and County Court Schemes involving a range of commercial and construction, property and land title, landlord and tenant and neighbour disputes

 

Cross-cultural property and family inheritance disputes

Actively involved in developing and promoting mediation and facilitated dispute resolution; Standing Committee member of MTVM Mediators.

Barrister with 20 years specialist advocacy and advisory experience in the construction and engineering field and related professional negligence involving -

 

Range of highly technical disputes in Technology & Construction Court, in adjudication, and in arbitration (including international and ICC arbitrations) - from small domestic/residential to multi-million pound projects and international infrastructure contracts

 

Accredited adjudicator (AICA, TECBAR and CEDR panels). Specialist advocate in adjudication; appeared in early leading cases on jurisdiction

 

Named Contract Adjudicator for the Ealing Borough Council Street Lighting Project and all ConocoPhilips Refinery construction disputes.

Previous Professional Experience


Prior to mediation being a recognised area of practice, in her work with disadvantaged groups in Australia and UK between 1973 and 1982, designed and implemented a variety of private and local government community-based projects for the mentally ill, handicapped and elderly, 'mediated' the demands of those groups including organisations representing abused women, and the particular government institutions and services of which they had expectations.

 

Previously, university lecturer in South East Asian history and more latterly, tutor in law and adjudication
